On October 9 at 2 p.m. Federation of Transport Workers at the KT "Support" organized a protest against the mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev. The reason is that the mayor did not comply with the cooperation agreement signed on February 26 of this year, in which it was written that a bonus system should be drawn up and introduced this year to pay drivers in the capital's auto and electric transport, BNR reports.
The union insists that this bonus system come into effect from October 1, he explained to "Horizon" the chairman Ivan Kirilov.
"We will take the first step - a protest in front of the Metropolitan Municipality, after which a subsequent one will be taken - to stop city transport, that is, to hold an effective strike. The excuses are that he cannot provide BGN 3,300,000 because that is how much it costs until the end of the year, because the state owes money, because there is no update of the budget, because according to him, at the moment, almost no is so imperative. Rather, the mayor and his administration rather want to send us back to 2025 and put the system in place there to replace any future increase in basic wages - something we would not accept in any way and something that workers they will oppose".
