"Who is buying the elections this time is clear - a new political force has become a monopolist in the market for votes. The former Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov turned out to be the poodle of Delyan Peevski, who is now at the top of the lists for two constituencies.
This was stated by former acting Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Demerdzhiev to bTV.
"Elections are held by police chiefs of departments and up," he added.
"Apparently there is an epidemic among police chiefs - in many places they are sick and in hospital for a long time, waiting for the elections to end,", Demerdzhiev revealed.
"The risky sections are known, these sections should have been unsealed. Sandokana, Sharana, Prucha are not new names in election shopping - they are permanently tied to buying votes," commented the former interior minister.
He pointed out that a new political force has emerged, headed by Peevski, a monopolist in the vote-buying market.
Demerdzhiev has no answer as to how it will happen that the people appointed by Kalin Stoyanov will counteract vote buying. At the moment, there remains the possibility of passive opposition to vote buying, Ivan Demerdzhiev pointed out, according to whom the current interior minister Atanas Ilkov has information on who the vote buyers are.
What Demerdzhiev sees is that Peevski is currently trying to get rid of his former political partners.
According to him, the only thing that can be done is a passive counteraction to buying votes with the saturation and presence of police officers.
Regarding the accusation brought against the former mayor of Kardzhali, Hassan Azis, Demerdzhiev stated that this trend is in line with the confrontation between the until recently partners of the “phenomenon”. When the clubs hit other people, there was no problem, and now when the clubs of the phenomenon started hitting his partners of yesterday, it became clear how scary it is, added Demerdzhiev.
Ivan Demerdzhiev did not say whether he would accept to become a full-time minister of the interior, but specified that if the independent candidate for prime minister is independent enough and has broad support, he would consider such an invitation.
