"On each and every report received in accordance with the official order at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an investigation immediately begins," Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Atanas Ilkov said at a briefing in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a reporter from "Focus" reported.
"On all the facts and circumstances presented in the report, work is being done and an objective and comprehensive check is being carried out, which is reported to the competent prosecutor's office in a timely manner,' Ilkov explained and assured that work is being done actively to acquire a pre-emptive information about people and entities involved in buying and selling votes with the intention of distorting the vote of citizens.
According to him, a very important task is to give the opportunity and ensure the right to vote for every Bulgarian citizen who has decided to vote on election day. "All offices of the Directorate "Bulgarian Identity Documents" to the Ministry of the Interior will work so that, if necessary, a voting certificate can be issued," added Ilkov.
"One of the main responsibilities for the upcoming elections is "on the shoulders of the Ministry of Interior and its employees", who must guarantee good public order before, during and after the election process. Many operational and organizational actions have been taken in this direction. The transport plan has been drawn up, according to which all election papers, electronic voting machines and their provision by Ministry of Interior officials will be moved from Sofia to every section in the country", Ilkov also said.
According to the official minister of e-government Valentin Mundrov, the state has taken and is implementing all necessary measures to guarantee the protection of citizens' votes.
"This includes the technical security and strict control of the entire process of authentication of the voting machines. Both at the moment and from the beginning of the authentication process, every single citizen can order and monitor this entire authentication process from the hall in the Ministry of Electronic Government", Mundrov also said and indicated that no compromises will be allowed regarding of the security and publicity of machine voting.
