The candidate for MP from “We continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“ and former Minister of Economy Bogdan Bogdanov stated in the Nova TV studio that it is possible that in the next four years the average salary will reach BGN 4,000. “This is possible to happen. But with joint efforts, it is not only the state through targeted measures that can achieve such an increase in wages. It can be achieved by the workers if they increase their productivity”, he added.
According to him, the problem for the enterprises that initially entered Bulgaria with the idea of lower operating costs and salaries is serious in Northern and North-Western Bulgaria. “At the moment, they simply cannot afford an increase in wages, and we want Bulgarian citizens to live better, we want wages to increase. When a company is here with lower value-added production and for the people who work on the machines do not require special skills, then wages are lower, he explained.
Bogdanov specified that if we want to improve the economic condition of these regions, we must attract investments. “In order for all of this to happen, there must be a purposeful economic policy and a horizon in which targeted work can be done in these areas,” added the candidate deputy.
„Salaries have been rising in recent years because one of the main problems was that we had some 12 years of stagnation,” said Bogdanov.
„In order to have a better standard of living, all workers from one country and the state must unite around the fact that increasing competitiveness and innovation are our common commitment“, the former economy minister claims.
