Borislav Sarafov is the only candidate for the new chief prosecutor. He was nominated by the Prosecutor's College consisting of Stefan Petrov, Plamen Naydenov and Svetlana Boshnyakova.
Sarafov's nomination came at the last possible meeting of the SJC Plenum at which candidates could be proposed. To become the next number one accuser, at least 13 "yes" votes are needed.
Sarafov took the post temporarily in the middle of last year, when the mandate of Ivan Geshev was terminated early.
