„Even if there was a second application, it would by no means be a sign of an actual competitive procedure, it could also be said that this is the most worthy candidate. Just because one nomination is made does not mean that candidate will be elected. It is possible that he will not be elected, regardless of the fact that only 13 votes are needed. In the previous procedure of Mr. Geshev from the Prosecutor's College, it was a clear sign that the majority of 17 votes was secured because there were only a few votes left, she explained.
Disheva pointed out that the candidate for chief prosecutor must, within a two-week period, present the concept of the state of the Prosecutor's Office and indicate his views on the system of the Prosecutor's Office at that moment and outline goals and measures for improving the work of the Prosecutor's Office.
„The question of the conquered judicial system stands constantly with terrible force. I will ask this question to Mr. Sarafov in the proceedings of his hearing, she threatened. However, Disheva specified that we do not have a clear answer to the responsible entities in the country whether our Prosecutor's Office has been conquered and whether the political dependencies are direct. There has been talk of this topic for a year. It is substantiated with specific examples, with analyzes of non-governmental organizations, bodies and institutions outside the country, we constantly receive recommendations in this direction, but in the SJC we do not have an official statement that the Prosecutor's Office is a dependent body.
„I continue to think that this SJC should not elect a new chief prosecutor and president of the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC), because of the body's lack of authority and because it is acting outside its mandate,”, she pointed out.
