The organization of traffic in the capital is changing because of the “Sofia Marathon 2024” on October 12 and 13. This was announced by the press center of the Metropolitan Municipality, BTA reported.
The 41st edition of Sofia's largest sports event - “Marathon Sofia 2024” is coming. This year the marathon will be held on a new route. On October 13, the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon will provide the record number of more than 6,500 participants with the opportunity for a different experience, and for the first time in history, the route will also cover the western part of the city.
The start-final of the classic distance of 42 kilometers and 195 meters is this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. from the "Alexander Battenberg" square. and will continue on the detailed map marking all the landmarks of Sofia, along which the marathoners will run. From this year, Sofia is already standing head and shoulders above other similar races in the region, as for the first time the number of people who signed up for the big marathon alone is approaching 1,000. To hold the marathon, a temporary movement organization is being created on the two days of October 12 and 13, 2024.< /p>
On October 12, the marathoners will participate in a 5 km course. The start will be given at 18:00 in front of the National Art Gallery, square “Kn. Alexander I“ – “Tsar Liberator“ Blvd. – Blvd. “Kn.
