Ivan Takov: How long will the police in Sofia allow hate crimes? - 1

How long will the police in Sofia will allow hate crimes? This is what the leader of the capital's socialists, Ivan Takov, is asking on the occasion of yet another act of vandalism against the Ossuary Memorial of the Soviet Warrior in the "Lozenets" district of the capital. In addition to being scratched with black and covered with red paint, part of the monument was also destroyed. "Cut Off" and thrown aside is the head of the child from the composition made in celebration of the Soviet liberating warriors.

"We have removed the broken part of the composition - the child's head - and we demand that the monument be cleaned and restored, said the chairman of BSP - Sofia. - We want the vandals to be found and punished with all the severity of the law for this act. Hate crimes are no less important than buying votes for elections. Let's not forget that hate crimes claimed the lives of 100 million people in World War II. That's why we want the police to do their job conscientiously in the case of the desecrated monument".

Ivan Takov expressed serious concern about the increasingly frequent manifestations of fascism in Sofia. "After the criminal dismemberment of the Monument to the Soviet Army, vandalistic fascist acts continue with complete impunity, he noted. - This is a very disturbing fact that leads to dark times. We remember the victims in World War II, we remember the liberators from the "brown plague" and we will not stop fighting against the troubling manifestations of fascism in our day. Cutting off children's heads and dismembering bodies cannot be taken lightly. Today, the victims are stone figures on memorials. If we don't stop this now, tomorrow they may attack flesh and blood people".
