Zelensky's plan, which was presented to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine yesterday, and before European leaders in Brussels today, is a plan to force Russia to the negotiating table. This is what he said in “More from the day” on BNT Yordan Bozhilov, former Deputy Minister of Defense.
“The Victory Plan” includes five main points, namely: NATO's invitation to Ukraine for NATO membership; deploying long-range systems and weapons and allowing the producing countries to use these systems against Russian military facilities on Russian territory; building a deterrence system that would enable Ukraine to obtain a guarantee that it would be protected in the future. In addition, it also contains a proposal for the joint use of Ukraine's natural resources, together with the EU, the USA and post-war cooperation in the field of security, he specified.
“The “Zelensky” is mirrored on the plan of Russia's vision for waging this war. Russia has repeatedly stated that it will continue to fight the war until it achieves all of its original objectives. We see that now the military line has stabilized, which is a freezing of the conflict, added Bozhilov.
“The key thing in this phase of the conflict is that Russia is hitting civilian targets in an attempt to force the Ukrainian population from within to change Ukraine's decisions so that Ukraine can accept Russian claims.”
Whether the plan is feasible depends on the Ukrainian will, but also on the will of the European and American partners, Bozhilov also said.
