Before the beginning of the winter season, the API undertook the repair of 18 km of the second-class road II-82 Samokov - Sofia in the section between Dolni Pasarel and Kokalyane (between the 62nd and 80th km). So far, cold milling of the asphalt concrete pavement, earth excavation and laying of crushed stone have been carried out on the route. The laying of loose asphalt mixture /binder/, cutting of the joints and cleaning of the base is due to start next week.
The construction works will be carried out without stopping the traffic, and the cars will pass in the lane in which no construction and installation activities are carried out. Drivers are required to drive carefully and at an appropriate speed. The activities have been assigned to the company with which API has a contract under the PPA for ongoing repair and maintenance of the republican roads in the Sofia region.
The preventive maintenance of road II-82 Samokov - Sofia will ensure the restoration and improvement of the transport and operational qualities and the bearing capacity of the pavement. They will ensure good drainage of the road section and restore the operational condition of road facilities and landscaping.
The second-class road has great economic and economic importance for the region, the repair will increase the safety of travel and reduce the conditions for road accidents. It is expected to be completed before the active winter season.
