Our special forces want a new rearmament - 1

The stagnation of the development of the special forces must be overcome at the fastest pace . After the implementation of the regional special operations command, then understanding and voting on the projects for rearming the entire Special Forces of the Bulgarian Army with new models - light small arms is urgently expected. This was stated by the head of the Special Operations Forces, Major General Yavor Mateev, to journalists on the occasion of the Day of the Military Parachutist.

In his words, when complex operations are carried out by special forces, there are always problems. From Monday, the special forces will have to go through the certification of the newly created Regional Command of Special Operations with Romania. For the first time, Bulgaria, together with Romania, became part of the command structure of the NATO Special Operations Forces. Bulgaria will participate with two tactical groups for special operations, General Mateev said.

He also pointed out the challenges facing special forces - many things have been done, but many things have not been done for subjective reasons. General Mateev is convinced that, just like special operations forces performing special tasks in peacetime, they should be given the respect they deserve. The special forces should be looked at as it was in other periods - with a completely different look and to respond to the needs of the special forces, General Yavor Mateev hopes, quoted by news.bg.

He pointed out that the special forces already have normal equipment and the necessary clothing, which not only gives them security, but also self-confidence. All military personnel are available and have the necessary equipment and are ready at any moment to perform combat tasks, but the projects related to the arming of the special forces are lagging behind, admitted Major General Yavor Mateev.

He emphasized that whatever tasks the special forces had, they always did it accurately and on time.
