API cannot agree on the temporary organization of the traffic proposed by the Metropolitan Municipality the clover on “Bulgaria“ and the Sofia Ring Road, because it does not guarantee traffic safety. The Metropolitan Municipality has no right to release traffic until it ensures the safe passage of motor vehicles.
API responsibly and in accordance with the legislation fulfills its obligations to maintain the republican road infrastructure and its facilities. In this regard, notes were sent to the Metropolitan Municipality on the new temporary organization and safety of traffic (VOBD) proposed by them on October 17. Since it does not guarantee safety, the API and the Sofia Regional Road Administration will not sign the protocol for introducing this VOBD.
The Metropolitan Municipality continues to generate public dissatisfaction and traffic congestion due to the closed cloverleaf on “Bulgaria“ Blvd. We remind you that on October 8, API provided a temporary organization and safety of traffic for the procedure in the Metropolitan Municipality and was ready even then to ensure the release of traffic through the facility. For unclear reasons, the proposal was not accepted by the municipal administration, and the API has not yet received an opinion on what the considerations are for this.
