North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was quoted as saying by the state-run Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCTA) that the launch of the missile was an undisputed success and the leading position his country had secured in developments in this field was irreversible.

The missile flew the distance of 1,001.2 km in 5,156 seconds before falling into the sea off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula, according to the KCTA statement.
The missile registered a maximum peak altitude of 7,687.5 kilometers, the announcement added.
The Hwasong-19 launch quickly drew condemnation from the Republic of Korea, Japan and the US amid growing international concern that North Korea has sent thousands of troops to Russia to support Moscow's war in Ukraine.
