14 politicians have submitted applications to the Central Election Commission to renounce their parliamentary seats seats in the 51st National Assembly. All of them are from four formations - GERB-SDS, "DPS - New Beginning", Alliance for Rights and Freedoms and "There is such a people".

As expected, mayors resigned from their positions. Even before the start of the campaign, GERB leader Boyko Borisov announced that there will be mayors in leading positions on the lists, but after the elections they will return to their positions. Thus Kostadin Dimitrov - mayor of Plovdiv, Dimitar Nikolov (Burgas), Zhivko Todorov (Stara Zagora) and Nikolay Melemov (Smolyan) resigned from the parliament. Several of the DPS mayors also resigned - Erol Muyun (Kardjali), Nejmi Ali (Jebel) and Ayjan Ahmed (Chernoochene), as they were the first three on the list in Kardjali.

From Delyan Peevski's formation there are several more rejections - Nikolay Kolev and Tunjai Yoztürk (27 MIR Stara Zagora), Medjetil Mimenov (1 MIR Blagoevgrad), Valentin Valentinov (12 MIR Montana).

Unsurprisingly, two leaders also gave up - Slavi Trifonov of "There is such a people", as with almost every campaign, and Ahmed Dogan of the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms.

Hristinka Ivanova from ITN also vacates a place in the parliament from the 15th MIR Pleven.
