The roof of a four-storey apartment building on "Mencha Karnicheva" street in Blagoevgrad caught fire early on Saturday morning, news.bg reported, citing information from NOVA.
All residents of the building were successfully evacuated and no one was injured, the authorities announced, quoted by Nova TV.
The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. when a resident living on the top floor of the apartment building woke up to smoke. He immediately got his children out of the building and warned his neighbors to do the same.
Four teams of the Regional Office for Fire Safety and Protection of the Population (RS PBZN) - Blagoevgrad, participated in extinguishing the fire, and a forklift was also used to deal with the flames on the roof.
According to initial information, the cause of the fire was probably a chimney that caught fire.
The case follows a similar incident in the city three days ago, when another early fire burned the roof of another old cooperative located near a shopping center.
