Another parliamentary immunity in the new parliament will most likely be requested. This was reported by Nova TV. We are talking about the leader of the MECH party, Radostin Vassilev, who will be a member of parliament again from Monday. A hearing in the case against Vassilev is scheduled for Wednesday in the Sofia City Court. He is being prosecuted because in 2022 forced the MP from “There is such a people” Hristinka Ivanova to leave the party and the parliament.
The court should stop the case against Vassilev and suggest to the chief prosecutor to request the removal of his immunity so that the trial can continue. It is in the judicial phase and is decided at first instance. When the investigation began, Vassilev was an MP from “We continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” and waived his immunity himself in 2023.
The prosecutor's office announced that on Monday after the oath, the immunity of Ceyhan Ibryamov, who was elected as an MP from the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, will be requested again. He has been charged with influence peddling and was in custody until Thursday.
