The formula proposed by Boyko Borisov for forming a cabinet is not working. How serious this offer is needs to be assessed. He proposed himself as Prime Minister, which it is clear that the other political parties will not accept. Borisov also proposed a coalition agreement with prominent political figures. In principle, this is a good option, but even before the campaign PP-DB, ITN and BSP set a condition for an expert cabinet without political figures. This was stated by the political scientist Assoc. Milen Ljubenov in “The Live Day” on Nova News.
According to him, “the parties are encapsulating with a view to an upcoming election campaign, and not throwing bridges to each other, with the aim of forming a regular government”. He pointed out that the higher voter turnout has “protected the parties, but it is quite illusory if they count on this trend to continue in the next elections.
Lyubenov believes that the quadruple coalition proposed by Borisov would be very difficult to happen. “Even if it happened in some form, it would be an eagle, a crab and a pike.”. “BSP is not clear whether they will feel good in a government with several right-wing formations”, said the political scientist. He is of the opinion that if the BSP enters such a coalition, it would create additional tension.
The political scientist expressed an assumption that the 51st National Assembly will last for several months. According to him, no changes will be made to the electoral legislation within this parliament.
He believes that early next year there will be new early elections.
When asked whether the creation of a presidential party can be expected, Lyubenov replied: “I am skeptical that a presidential party with another person would be successful and would achieve a significant result. Only if President Radev enters the political field and leads a party, he can receive more serious support”.
