On the second day of the first session of the new parliament, the deputies again did not elect a speaker.
The first selection attempt on Monday was unsuccessful. As then, as today, five formations put forward their candidates for the post. GERB-SDS proposed Raya Nazaryan, PP-DB - Andrey Tsekov, and "BSP - United Left" nominated the professor of constitutional law Nataliya Kiselova. From "Revival" suggested lawyer Petar Petrov, and "There is such a people" they wanted associate professor of criminal law Nicoleta Kuzmanova to take the position.
However, none of the nominees gathered enough support in the first round. The candidacies of Andrey Tsekov and Raya Nazaryan were also voted on in a runoff, in which again the chairman was not determined.
After that, Silvi Kirilov, chairing the meeting, announced a 30-minute break, during which representatives of the formations in the National Assembly could meet and talk.
