Radostin Vasilev: MECH will no longer give support for the new parliament speaker - 1

The leader of the MECH party, Radostin Vassilev, announced to journalists on the sidelines of the parliament that the formation will no longer support the speaker of the 51st National Assembly, after they supported all the nominations on Monday without that of GERB-SDS. We will refrain from supporting anyone,he commented, quoted by BTA. In his words, the candidate of “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB) Andrey Tsekov has reached the runoff thanks to MECH's votes.

BTA recalls that earlier today a new attempt was made to elect a Speaker of the Parliament, but he was not elected. The meeting will resume on Friday 15 November at 11:00.

Today, once again, the meeting failed, because there is a frank impossibility of GERB to impose and find support for its chairman of the National Assembly, Radostin Vasilev said. We see an impossibility in the PP as well, he said and added that the MEC's desire was to continue the session of the parliament tomorrow, but it was decided at the presidential council that it would be on Friday. According to Vasilev, GERB wanted to wait a week. We opposed categorically because we believe that GERB are having conversations in the dark, we don't know with whom, we hear some things from BSP, from ITN – others. We are happy that we are not invited to meetings, commented the leader of MECH.

The winner and the runner-up in the elections do not know at all what society expects from them, how conversations are conducted, what negotiations are conducted and complete chaos reigns between them, he also stated.

I will give myself immunity, as well as all MPs from MECH will give themselves immunity voluntarily as part of the responsibility we have assumed before our voters and I have no worries about the case, answered Vassilev when asked if he expects his immunity to be taken away .
