People's representatives will try to elect a speaker of the National Assembly for the seventh time, NOVA reported.
The first session of the parliament lasts a record 18 days. A new vote is expected to be held today, which will show whether the MPs will find a consensus.
It has come to this, after in the sixth attempt, the people's representatives failed to unite around the candidacy of a single nominee. In the last vote, Raya Nazaryan from GERB-SDS gathered 69 votes "for" and 147 "against". and 4 "abstained". Silvi Kirilov from ITN received 100 votes "for", an equal number of "against", and 17 deputies abstained. Upon re-voting, the results for Kirilov changed minimally – 100 "for", 101 "against" and 16 "abstained".
