The Bulgarian ship “Tsarevna” collided with a Turkish cargo ship, reported the specialized website maritime.bg.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. last night in the strait – Kattegat, in the area of the Danish island of Anholt.

According to initial information, no sailors from both vessels were injured and no pollution was caused.

The cause of the collision is still unclear, Danish maritime authorities have launched an investigation.

„Tsarevna“ sails under the Maltese flag and was bound for St. Petersburg. The Turkish cargo ship “Erdogan Bey“ sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands and was traveling to the Danish city of Frederikshavn.

Bulgarian sailors of “Tsarevna“ were stranded for nearly 8 months in the port of Mariupol after the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022.

In March and April, Russians and Ukrainians fought literally in front of the ship at the port in Mariupol, and the Bulgarian sailors hid for hours in the engine room.
