Gabriel Valkov: DPS-New Beginning is afraid of Assoc. Kiselova - she is a moral person, with high public support

„ I think we achieved a result that is good for the whole country. There is hardly anyone who, according to Assoc. Natalia Kiselova is a bad option for the Speaker of the National Assembly.“ This was stated by the People's Representative from the “BSP-UNITED LEFT” Gabriel Valkov on the air of radio "Focus".
According to him, this result was achieved with many conversations, dialogue and humility. According to him, in recent years Bulgaria has lacked normalcy and dialogue between political parties. “It is precisely because of this that we focused on bringing this dialogue back – let's sit at the negotiating table and talk to everyone, without “DPS-New Beginning”. And that gave a result”, pointed out Valkov.
The socialist pointed out that the consensus reached was for an expert who is not a member of a party and is respected by society. „ We supported the system parties Assoc. Kiselova with the understanding that this is a reasonable decision and that there is a need for normalcy in the Bulgarian parliament. Excesses and extremes, such as on ITN, “Revival“ and MECH is not something that brings added value and can produce normal policies", he also commented.
Gabriel Valkov explained that the “BSP-UNITED LEFT” was the only one to stand behind the “sanitary cordon” with the signatures of all its deputies, so that there would be no doubts about addictions. “There are no dependencies in BSP. We are principled and consistent, and that's why we refused any support from “DPS-Novo Nachalo”, he said.
Valkov commented that Delyan Peevski unsuccessfully tried to blow up the negotiations for the chairman of the National Assembly: “DPS-New beginning“ they are afraid of Assoc. Natalia Kiselova, because she is an independent, moral person with high public support. Her hands cannot be twisted and she will not succumb to corruption. Therefore, they tried to discredit her candidacy, but we saw these political games, we opposed and chose the best option for Bulgaria.“
In his words, the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly is not a battle won by the BSP, but by the whole society. “We have no personal party interest in electing Assoc. Kiselova. She is not a party leader, and upon her election she herself declared that she would be equally distant and chairperson of the entire National Assembly, as she should be. Over the years, we are used to hearing about “my man“, “your man“ – Assoc. "Kiselova is nobody's man," Valkov was categorical.
The left-wing MP also said that the position of any sane party should be that new elections are harmful to the country, as they will not produce anything different. According to him, there should be a regular cabinet with a strategy and vision for Bulgaria, around which there should be unity in order to move in some normal direction. “We need a round table where all parties, except DPS-NN, sit down and think if there is a way out of the situation in the current parliament. We need to see the remaining 210 people's representatives if we can form an expert regular government, which will lead Bulgaria in a normal direction or we leave the country to the will of fate, as it was in the last 4 years. This conversation must be held and everyone must give up their narrow party interest. The time of political scandals is over“, Gabriel Valkov thinks.
