It is quite normal for the SDS to did not support a candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly from the BSP. This is an ideological position that we have defended for 35 years. This was stated by Rumen Hristov, deputy from GERB - SDS, on the air of BNT.
What was reported is that the gesture is being returned to the BSP with the election of Vezhdi Rashidov. But just to remind that Rashidov was part of the largest parliamentary represented group. We are now electing the chairman of the fifth group and this is because the first two (GERB - SDS and PP-DB) did not agree. If there was an understanding in the runoff, we could choose between the candidates of GERB - SDS and PP-DB, Hristov pointed out.
Hristov noted that he is not optimistic about forming a regular cabinet. "We declared our formula - GERB-SDS, PP-DB and ITN with the support of BSP. Arguments are brought up by PP-DB, which are unenforceable. I'm not an optimist. We are waiting for the consultations, we will start talking about serious management", he added.
In the last regular government, we made a compromise - we had only one representative in the person of Maria Gabriel. What we will insist on is that there are political figures who bear responsibility.
We changed the Constitution to take away Mr. Radev's ability to rule alone. And now we chose a person close to him. After the changes in the BSP, we see a warming of their relations with President Radev, added Hristov.
