An attempt is being made to influence the process of forming a government on the one hand, and the other is – possibly the election of Borislav Sarafov as the chief prosecutor already for a full post of 7 years", he explained in an interview with BNR.
According to him, this is a two-way message. On the one hand, it is to Kiril Petkov, PP and DB – to reduce their enthusiasm for adopting changes in the Law on Judicial Power, possibly to put demands in the formation of a new government, but this is also a reminder of the Boyko Borisov scandal itself, the political scientist specified. And he recalled the reason for the arrests of Boyko Borisov, Vladislav Goranov and Sevdalina Arnaudova.
"This is a reminder of this scandal, which was supposedly closed by the prosecutor's office, but it was closed in such a state that it is one of the corpse cases, because the prosecutor's office was able to prove that Bozhkov walked with large sums of money regularly with Vladislav Goranov, but from then on the traces of the money disappear and it is not clear whether it was given to Goranov or Bozhkov took it in an unknown direction.
In his words, the scandal has its own dimensions and in itself is one of the tools to keep key politicians in the country under some influence.
However, the message from the requested immunity is two-way – to the two main parties, which should be thinking about forming a government, Smilov expressed his opinion in an interview for the show "Above all". According to him, the message is "to be careful, not to form a government that tries to stop the election of Sarafov or to make some sanitary cordons.
The political scientist believes that the parties themselves realize that going to the 8th election in a row is a very high-risk undertaking and it is very difficult to predict its final result. This time, the price would be very high for the country, he added.
"Parties that are responsible should take a very serious approach to forming a government," said Daniel Smilov categorically. According to him, GERB have a good chance to try to form a government:
"There is a possibility of negotiation. They do not exclude the conditions that were set and are related to the sanitary cordon around "New Beginning", but GERB themselves have stated that they will not include "New Beginning". in management. From that point of view, it shouldn't be much of a problem for them to do so. There are objective prerequisites for a positive end, but we have looked at such situations with objective prerequisites that led to new elections".
In his words, regarding the dividing lines between GERB and PP-DB, it seems to be about the interests of a third party – "A New Beginning" – whether to be insulated or not. GERB, PP-DB, possibly BSP and ITN should sit down and understand each other, noted the political scientist. According to him, the interests of "New Beginning" should be a marginal topic in these conversations, but now they are becoming a central topic.
