The declaration on the cordon sanitaire must be the basis of all negotiations that are being held for regular governance. The formula that we have discussed is an equidistant and equally acceptable prime minister. This must be a person who clearly defends the priorities in the declaration, anti-corruption, the election of Sarafov, to take a step towards a return to normal political life, and not to a state governed by private interests. The basis of our declaration is to isolate Mr. Peevski and "MPS - New Beginning" from participating in power.
This was stated by Assoc. Atanas Slavov from PP-DB in the show "Denyat ON AIR".
According to him, if in just a day or two we see the nomination for prime minister of GERB leader Boyko Borisov - this would mean that GERB wants new elections and a new regular government in this parliament is impossible.
Membership in the Eurozone is an important priority for PP-DB
"We hope for an open negotiation process in which our priorities will be put on the table. Membership in the Eurozone is an absolute priority," said Assoc. Prof. Slavov to Bulgaria ON AIR.
He hopes that the legislative proposals that have been submitted will be quickly put into action and that President Rumen Radev will not issue a decree appointing Borislav Sarafov to the post of Prosecutor General.
"The Constitutional Court, when it comes to pronouncing constitutional changes that have already been made, is a bit unpredictable. The more important issue is that we must preserve the model of parliamentary democracy", the PP-DB MP emphasized.
When asked whether the president is violating the Constitution after stating that he will not invite "DPS - New Beginning" to consultations, Assoc. Prof. Slavov replied that he is violating the accepted practice, but to say that he is violating the Constitution is a harsh assessment.
