The huge mistake of Bulgarian politicians is that they divided our society. The drama of today's Bulgarian society is this hatred that does not allow us to look ahead and see ourselves as a single body on the European stage. This was said by journalist Valeria Veleva in the program "Metronome" on Radio "Focus".
All significant events in Bulgaria for 2024 are negative, she said. First of all, Veleva put the impossibility of the political forces to form a regular government and a sustainable management program that would allow Bulgaria to develop. "The threads of trust between the political forces have been completely destroyed. There is hatred and personal animosity between the leaders of the leading political parties, an inability to verbalize a common national goal, to indicate a unifying cause for the entire society", the journalist pointed out.
Bulgaria needs reconciliation of political leaders, but Veleva believes that this cannot happen at the moment. "They cannot sit down and talk about a government, let alone agree on five things that we need to deal with in order to move forward. The economy will get better, the finances will get better, but what is happening in society and with the young is for years to come. We are raising a generation for which I have serious concerns about what moral foundations it will stand on. What are we bequeathing to him, what idea, what cause? Right now we don't have a battle of ideas," she said.
The aggression we are witnessing everywhere starts from the parliament and the parliamentary rostrum, where hate speech is being poured out. "The Bulgarian political elite and Bulgarian political life have never reached such a bottom as it has reached at the moment. This is the sad balance", Veleva added.
In her words, when political parties have no ideology, politics becomes a field for self-determination. "This is disastrous. This brutalization of politicians has been observed in the last four years. President Radev's raised fist seemed to unleash the demons in Bulgarian society“, the journalist commented.
Rumen Radev has a historical sin because he imposed the leaders of “We continue the change“ on the political scene, she added. “They entered this scene, using the authority of Rumen Radev, which he had at the time. The leaders of the PP are the weeds of the political scene. When you enter politics, trampling over the Constitution and when you govern with falsifications, there can be no other definition. They came with the claim that they would be the change and the negation of everything bad so far, but they dashed the hopes of a huge part of the young generation. This general change, with which they entered the political scene, turned out to be a huge fraud four years later“, said Valeria Veleva.
