Unprecedented - the year begins with two different minimum wages in our country.
Lower for civil servants and higher for others. The reason - the lack of a budget for 2025, which specifies the minimum wage for civil servants.
That is why their salaries remain at the old, lower amount. Cases also arise with municipal budgets, which also depend on the central one.
„There are anomalies that arise from political instability. The state budget is one of those most important things that should have been done much earlier. But precisely because of the orgy in the National Assembly and the impossibility of once again having at least some stability, we see anomalies in terms of both the minimum wage and the budget as a whole," commented Vladimir Sirkarov, an economist and lecturer at the Academy of Economics, to bTV.
According to the former chairman of the CPC and former Deputy Minister of Economy Dimitar Margaritov, there are not many people in the state administration who support a minimum wage.
“Few people from the state sector will be there. There are almost no people on a minimum wage in the state administration. In fact, this will not be a serious problem. But there is really an anomaly. Rather, the problem is that for two and a half years the state has been on autopilot and there is obviously no one to take things under manual control so that what needs to happen and we have a budget happens,“, believes Margaritov.
