From today - January 8, the major repairs of the Danube Bridge near Ruse resume. Before the Christmas and New Year holidays - on December 20, the repair work in the first approximately 400-meter section in the lane in the direction of Bulgaria was completed. Work on the site was temporarily suspended so that all types of vehicles could pass through the facility without restrictions in the expected heavy traffic.
It is planned that construction and installation works will resume at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday with the closure of nearly 413 meters in the lane in the direction of Romania. The rehabilitation of the facility will continue without stopping traffic, with traffic moving in both directions in the major repair section in the lane to Bulgaria.
In the coming days, the activities that will be carried out on the bridge in the lane to Romania are the removal of the guardrails, pedestrian railing and lighting fixtures. As before, the major repair of the Danube Bridge will be carried out without stopping traffic. Work will be carried out on the site daily during daylight hours, depending on weather conditions. The work process will be organized and carried out so that vehicles can gradually move in both directions in the lane where work is not being done.
