The co-chairman of “We Continue the Change“ Kiril Petkov is due to appear at the prosecutor's office at 11 a.m. to receive his indictment in the case of the arrest of Boyko Borisov, bTV reported.
At the end of last year, prosecutor number one Borislav Sarafov requested Petkov's immunity due to Borisov's arrest on March 17, 2022.
According to the state prosecution, Kiril Petkov ordered the arrests of Boyko Borisov, Vladislav Goranov and Sevdelina Arnaudova and, as prime minister, exceeded his authority.
According to the prosecutor's office, Petkov's goal was to cause the three detainees "damage, which is expressed in undermining their prestige and good name in society." These actions have also had harmful consequences for the state, the state prosecution also claims.
In addition, searches and seizures were ordered in the homes of Borisov, Goranov and Arnaudova in the dark of the day without a court order for this and without any grounds for urgency.
Kiril Petkov himself waived his immunity for this and declared what was happening to be the actions of “pathetic mafias“. Now his party members are expected to gather in protest in the courtyard of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office.
