„My personal opinion is that talks should be held in order to have a government. „BSP - United Left“ should look for a way to avoid elections. At the moment, it is much more correct to have a government elected by the National Assembly, and not to continue with the cycle of elections and caretaker governments“.
This was stated to bTV by Natalia Kiselova, Speaker of the 51st National Assembly. She continues to believe that the probability of forming a government is 50%.
„We should not rule out a complication of relations between parliamentary groups. Currently, we have 8 parliamentary groups and the talks are complicated by the fact that they are many and small in number“, Kiselova pointed out.
„Our representatives in the talks have categorically rejected the possibility of Boyko Borisov being a candidate for Prime Minister“, she added.
The Left nominates one deputy prime minister and four ministers:
The portfolios of the possible BSP ministers have been the subject of negotiations. The ITN will receive a proposal for one deputy prime minister and four ministers, Kiselova specified.
„The talks within the coalition continue. What the colleagues said to each other are what are the options before the Bulgarian state. First of all, do we want to make efforts for a government, or to go to another early election. If we want to have a regular government, what should it be – whether to participate in the parliamentary group, continuing the talks, or to withdraw. And since the mandate at the moment is to continue the talks on clearing the agreement and possibly have support and a program for governance, this will be reported“, explained Kiselova.
“Both in the National Council of the BSP and in the coalition council, the talks are quite heated. We have not given up criticizing the model by which GERB governed from 2009 to 2021. But today we are 2025 and what Bulgaria is today is different from what it was in 2021. A cycle of elections has led to exhaustion. We must realize that the parties today are not what they were in 2021“, commented the Speaker of Parliament.
According to her, each party is currently considering whether or not it will lose more voters from the “embrace with GERB“.
“But this series of elections shows that the parties are losing more and more. Bulgarian citizens are not going out to vote and here the question should already be – are they tired of elections or there should be some way for the deputies and the government to start solving problems“, is the opinion of Natalia Kiselova.
