Agricultural producers may lose part of their subsidies if they leave workers without insurance or do not comply with the requirements for safety at work, NOVA reported.
This is provided for by a new methodology of the Ministry of Agriculture, according to which it will be determined what financial assistance farmers will receive. The regulation is still in a period of public discussion.
The sanctions, which can vary from 3 to 100%, will be imposed for irregular contracts for seasonal or daily employment, as well as for violations of working conditions. According to Goranova, the texts hide pitfalls.
For NOVA, the Ministry of Agriculture explained that the amount of the sanctions will be determined based on the severity, repeatability, systematicity and intentionality of the violation. And it will not lead to additional requirements and inspections in agricultural holdings. And the inspections will be as before - only by the Labor Inspectorate.
Whether the methodology will be adopted in this form will become clear after the end of the public discussion in February.
