GERB Chairman Boyko Borisov said that he supports Temenuzhka Petkova's decision to dismiss her deputy minister Lyudmila Petkova from office, BNT reported.
"Yesterday we held a serious meeting, because GERB puts the state and its strategic goals first. In 2020, GERB under my leadership brought Bulgaria into the eurozone - the waiting room and the European Banking Union. Unfortunately, for 4 years, my colleagues from the PP-DB did nothing to get Bulgaria out of the waiting room and into the eurozone. These are the facts. All sorts of figures were given and I support the decision of Temenuzhka Petkova to resign from her deputy minister position, because if you don't know for a year as a minister what your finances are like, and to every question "what they are" - the answer is that more data needs to be collected. I think there is nothing to help her there. Bulgaria's strategic goal, especially what we see in the hall, is to enter the eurozone. The benefits are enormous. And you know that there is even a decision of the National Assembly that the exchange rate of the lev and the euro should be 1.95583 - exact, fixed. So the fears that someone will become poor or something like that - is not possible.
- BNT: Don't you want the restaurateurs to get angry?
- Yesterday at the Council and what will happen in the hall, we talked with our coalition partners about everyone making compromises and concessions and from what entered the hall with a 3% deficit, so that the law leaves the hall. So there are painful decisions, there must be compromises from everyone. You see that what we did last year and they accused us of why we were giving the old Soviet equipment - today we have 380-390 million coming from Denmark precisely for this equipment. To increase the combat capability of the army. It turns out that the German missiles will come to us as barter, without money. The government has our full support to do this job.
Borisov commented on the statements of the PP-DB that they are not satisfied with the way in which the filling of the regulators is beginning.
"Yesterday I found out that their strategic goal is the eurozone, and for 4 years the people were impoverished by being charged 1 leva for gasoline and diesel, inflation hit the ceiling, pensions were inflated, salaries reached unprecedented levels, and this was their strategic goal. For 4 years I did not see a single request for Bulgaria to enter the eurozone, but yesterday this was strategically important to them. I applaud them, we are becoming more. I remember how the "Party of Change" started changing the regulators when GERB was disbanded and did not participate in the processes. You remember the KEVR returned it to the Constitutional Court and Ivan Ivanov became 80 years old, to live another 80, still being the head of the KEVR, because of what Lena Borislavova did. And a bunch of other regulators were replaced with relatives, brothers-in-law, scoundrels and who else. You remember that."
"I remember when my office started working on the health insurance fund - then the deadline was three days, they were in such a hurry to appoint their chairman. Now it's 7 days. But now they have had enough. The easiest thing is to delay them, but if I say today - "Let's delay the deadlines", they will come out and say: "You see, for years the regulators, because Sasho Neykov's mother was there", and since their minister was the mother of their mayor of "Podujane" - the official minister of the regional ministry of the Glavchev and Peevski government, as you like to say, was the mother of the mayor of "Podujane" from the PP-DB."
Journalist: The President demanded the truth about the "Eight Dwarfs" and for the Notary?
- I wish he would have gotten away with it, he was the master of the state for two years with his official governments.
- You are in power?
- You won't get away with it - everything that others haven't done so far, we should do.
- There is no constitutional reform?
- There is a complete constitutional reform and we completed it with the PP-DB in such a wonderful way that the Constitutional Court returned half of it to us," Borisov also said.
