Mihail Mikov on the MECH scandal: Radostin Vassilev's behavior is terrible - 1

Unnecessary scandal and noise in favor of MECH. This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio on the case with the MECH parliamentary group by the chairman of the 42nd parliament, Mihail Mikov, former leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), from April 2008 to July 2009. is the Minister of Internal Affairs in the "Stanishev" cabinet.

In his words, everyone interprets the rules of the National Assembly in order to achieve some political goal: "The behavior of Radostin Vassilev (leader of MECH) is terrible and this is undeniable, but at the same time, what happened with the MECH PG casts a stain on the work of the National Assembly, creates unnecessary tension and is an unnecessary scandal, when Bulgaria has many other issues to solve, and the parliament has many other tasks," he specified and emphasized that the used text from the rules of the National Assembly was written with the aim of limiting the so-called. parliamentary nomadism.

According to Mikov, someone thought that if a parliamentary group is dissolved, it will lose its public influence: "The noise that is being made now is doing the exact opposite of what they thought, that the deletion of a parliamentary group would have some political benefit for them".

He pointed out two ways out of the situation: "A historical interpretation of why this restriction arose, written in the rules, that it is mostly because of parliamentary nomadism. And second - to review in one session how changes to the rules are adopted, and to clarify that it is a question of limiting the changed vote of voters, and not such a technical issue - elected representatives who have not taken the oath, etc."
