The crisis in the Sofia Municipality and in the country can only be resolved by consolidating a majority around a clear right-wing program, because the alternative to this collapse in the municipality and in the country are right-wing policies. This was said by the municipal councilor from "Blue Sofia" Ivan Sotirov in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the World in Focus" on Radio "Focus".

According to him, chaos reigns in the Sofia Municipality, there is a lack of strategy and vision for management. "The Municipal Council is torn apart by scandals, personal attacks and battles over which group will staff the companies and the administration. There is no single strategic decision made by the Municipal Council. There are continuous battles to create one or another majority and everything is focused on who will staff the municipal companies, who will feed their circles of companies, who will appoint their party clientele. The mayor of Sofia has not submitted a management program, he has not submitted a structure for the municipality – these are all mandatory requirements for which there are legal deadlines. Nothing is being followed", Sotirov pointed out.

GERB and BSP are the core of the economic majority in the Sofia Municipal Council. "In one day, this majority, without any discussion, in a brutal, unprecedented way, changed the boards of the most key municipal companies. Obviously, these parties work with certain oligarchs. This is also visible in the Sofia Municipality, it is also visible in the state“, said the municipal councilor.

According to Sotirov the only way to stop corruption is for the state to withdraw from economic activity. "Corruption occurs where it is assigned by the state and the municipality, it cannot occur in private companies. Both the state and the municipalities are primarily engaged in business. The Sofia Municipality is engaged in many extraneous activities and at the same time has abdicated from its main functions. The municipality must deal with security, social activities, healthcare and the creation of fair rules for business and citizens“, he said.

The oligarchic model can be broken when strategic investors who have proven themselves on the European market enter the market, believes Sotirov.
