In Pazardzhik, the Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev stated that a mandatory elective class on "Virtues and Religions" will be introduced at the earliest next year.
The discipline will be entirely secular and will be taught by teachers qualified in universities, he explained, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.
Minister Krasimir Valchev attended an open lesson on "Virtues and Education" at the "Vasil Drumev" primary school, which to some extent illustrated what the new mandatory discipline that will be introduced into the curriculum will look like.
The open lesson "Virtues and Faith" was held by teacher Mariana Georgieva in the school yard. The children's student tables were also located there.
The children also got acquainted with the virtual tree of virtues and each of them was invited to tear off a leaf with a virtue. The most preferred one turned out to be forgiveness.
The Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev shared that this lesson is an example of what the mandatory elective "Hour of Goodness", which is about to be introduced into the curriculum, should look like.
