A truck spun on the rain-wet road, tore off the guardrails and fell into a deep ravine on Hainboaz. The accident occurred at around 6 p.m. on Monday near the village of Mishemerkov Han, Nova TV reports.
The truck fell into the ravine from a 40-meter height. The trees on the steep slope softened the impact and the driver miraculously survived. The truck was transporting empty beer bottles.
This is the second serious accident in just an hour in the Republic Pass.
Earlier on Monday, a truck hit a passenger car with its rear end in the area of the village of Voneshta Voda. The driver of the car died.
The truck left the accident scene and is being searched for by the police. It is likely that it was a foreign truck. It is possible that its driver did not know about the incident.
A woman was traveling with the deceased man and reported the incident. It was she who claimed that the truck driver fled. The injured woman is in hospital, her life is not in danger.
