The treasury deficit at end-March over BGN 1.9 billion. It is expected that its size will remain the same in April, according to the data released by the Ministry of Finance, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.
In March, treasury revenues increased by about BGN 1 billion compared to the same period last year, according to the final data for the first quarter.
The forecast for April is for revenue growth of 1.8 billion.
On the expenditure side – over three billion more were spent as of March compared to the same period in 2024, and in April they will exceed four billion more than last year.
The Ministry of Finance recalls that last month the BNB transferred 550 million leva to the treasury, which is an excess of revenues over expenditures for the central bank last year.
As of March, there are nearly nine billion leva in the fiscal reserve.
