Ahmed Dogan's MRF is left without a party headquarters. This was announced by MP Jeyhan Ibryamov to journalists on the sidelines of the parliament.
"10 days ago we received a letter from the regional governor of Sofia-city, informing us that we had to leave the headquarters of the "Movement for Rights and Freedoms" that we had been hosting for 35 years.
We immediately reacted in due order, with the relevant documents, I want to emphasize that this headquarters was provided by a decision of the Council of Ministers. We have proper documents, signed contracts, which are working to this day. We pay our rent, which is required by the regional government," he said.
Ceyhan Ibryamov said that they had sent all the documents to the regional governor, and from there to the Council of Ministers, to prove the normal functioning of the faction around Ahmed Dogan as a political party.
"Without being informed of the response of these institutions, we received an order to voluntarily leave the building on "Alexander Stamboliyski" Blvd. on the grounds that we were provided with another building at "Vrabcha" 23," he said.
According to him, they have two weeks to leave the building. Ahmed Dogan's party has filed an appeal with the administrative court. Jeyhan Ibryamov explained that they received a notification that it would not be considered.
"We have also filed a private appeal with the Supreme Administrative Court to stop the order for the forced seizure of this power plant. It has a 35-year history. Currently, 12 people work there. Our MPs have working premises, there are reception days", explained Ibryamov.
He announced that later today the faction around Ahmed Dogan will hold a meeting with the Sofia regional governor, and next week with the prime minister, to discuss the case.
"I will not allow us not to be heard, because this week we received an invoice from the Sofia regional governor to pay our rent. We are fulfilling it voluntarily. I hope that the institutions in the Republic of Bulgaria will return to a normal rhythm of work," he said.
Ceyhan Ibryamov also commented on the topic of immunities: "The highest body in this country - the National Assembly - decided on immunities. For us, the topic of immunities does not exist, for the simple reason that the act that was produced again is incorrect".
