“There is no dialogue. A serious crisis is taking place in Sofia, which is being used as racketeering and blackmail against the leadership of the Sofia Municipality in order to achieve some goals at the expense of all Sofia residents. This type of racketeering is unacceptable”. This was stated in the program “Wake up” on Nova TV by Nikolay Denkov from PP-DB.
On the second day of the protest, we learned that there was a political element here. It was seen that the leaders of this protest are closely linked to GERB, to the BSP. There is no doubt that there is a political attack”, Denkov said.
”On the third day, we saw threats to mayors in large cities that are not governed by GERB. For example, there is no threat of a strike in Plovdiv, where the mayor is from GERB. But there is a threat in Varna and Ruse.
I have no doubt that this is an action that I would include in the framework of the new strategy of “New Beginning”.
What we have been seeing for months is the “New Beginning” strategy, in which they go to the settlements and try to bring the mayors under the umbrella of this ruling majority. Currently, we are seeing this strategy, which I would call “whoever hears, he will file” - being implemented in the city of Sofia.
This has never happened. And I want to draw the attention of Sofia residents - if we allow this to happen, from now on the elections will not matter, because what will matter is not who won the elections, as Mayor Terziev won, but who can activate the racketeers”, said Denkov.
