Acad. Hristo Grigorov was elected Chairman of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) for the period 2025-2028 at the General Assembly of the organization today in Sofia.

Out of 85 ballots cast in the ballot box, 76 delegates voted "for" Grigorov, eight were against, one ballot was not found. This result exceeds the two-thirds requirement, with which Grigorov was elected Chairman of the Bulgarian Red Cross, announced the moderator of the meeting - Dr. Valentin Peev.
Thank you very much for your trust. I assure you that the next four years will continue to be years of unity, said Grigorov, who has been Chairman of the organization until now, after the election. I thank these 76 delegates, these eight who voted against are a signal that there are things that we need to fix, and we will do it. We will all move forward together, Grigorov said. He assured that he will continue to make efforts to ensure that the organization remains independent, financially secure and able to help people.
There were three candidates for three positions as deputy chairmen of the Bulgarian Red Cross. Zdravko Marinov, Valentin Peev, Stoycho Stoychev were elected. The Bulgarian Red Cross also elected a National Council of 14 members.
