We are following the situation with the ongoing strike in public transport in Sofia with concern. We understand that nearly 300 students have reported to the Ministry of Education and Science that they will not be able to get to their schools for the state high school graduation exams on May 21 and 23.
Education is a national priority, and the high school graduation exam is an important moment for every family. We cannot remain indifferent.
The parliamentary group of the “BSP - United Left“, together with our ministers, the BSP leadership and the Youth Union in the party, declares its readiness to provide vehicles to transport high school graduates to the places of their exams in Sofia. A phone number will be announced on Monday where high school seniors who need transportation to their respective schools can submit their requests.
We also call on other institutions, parties and citizens to get involved in whatever way they can. This is not a matter of politics, but of solidarity and civic responsibility.
