Today it will become clear whether garbage collection will be stopped in 8 metropolitan areas, BNT reported.
A few days ago, the companies "Zauba" and "Green Partners - BKS" announced that they would stop cleaning in "Lyulin", "Krasno Selo", "Ilinden", "Nadezhda", "Serdika", "Izgrev", "Slatina" and "Poduyane", due to nearly 9 million leva unpaid by the Sofia Municipality.
At the end of last week, Deputy Mayor for Finance Ivan Vassilev explained that the delay in payments to the companies in question was due to legal restrictions related to the still unadopted municipal budget.
He expressed hope that the budget plan would be approved by the Municipal Council on May 29 and assured that the garbage collection in Sofia would not stop.
