The beginning of the session of the National Assembly on Thursday was also marked by a scandal. Speaker Natalia Kiselova had to impose punishments, reports novini.bg.
The first was Ivaylo Popov from "Vazrazhdane" on the occasion of his statement in connection with the proposal to ban the study of Russian in schools. He called PP-DB "fascists who want a barbaric suppression of the urge for knowledge". Then he added "janissaries" to the epithets.
Kiselova immediately reprimanded him, “because you addressed your colleagues with insulting words“. When she saw that the leader of “Vazrazhdane“ wanted to speak, she stated: “The day will be long. There will be punishments for everyone“.
Kostadin Kostadinov also received a punishment because he also shouted from the podium that the PP-DB were Janissaries who blasphemed everything Bulgarian, and moreover, they mocked faith, the church and religion.
“We call such people Janissaries. These are the PP-DB and all their similar Janissaries. And no matter how many punishments you impose on us, we will not stop calling the Janissaries Janissaries, because you are Janissaries“, Kostadinov said in a loud voice.
“And you are a kopeck“, replied Atanas Atanasov from PP-DB from the seat.
Kiselova imposed a remark on Kostadinov because she was responsible for the language in the plenary hall, and the leader of "Vazrazhdane" continued to shout at her from the seat.
Tsoncho Ganev from "Vazrazhdane" is of the opinion that the Russian language should not be stopped and banned for study and asked from the rostrum to take a position on the problem. The ban on languages leads to civil war. The Janissaries are out of parliament, and you, Mrs. Kiselova, react!
In response to Tsoncho Ganev, Manol Peykov from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" came to the podium and stated: Madam Speaker, get a grip on all of this. These people from "Vazrazhdane" are vile liars, they lied to the Bulgarians. Kostadin Kostadinov, do you know him, lied about the vaccines, which he claimed were harmful, while he was vaccinated. Did he lie, asked Peykov. I would condemn him for this, but I can't. He pretended to be a great fighter for saving the leva, while his own savings are in euros. He continues to lie that he is a patriot and that he loves Bulgaria. He lied that he hated the enemies of Bulgaria while licking Putin's soles".
He also said that he was among the few people in parliament who did not lick alcohol and for that he could condemn Kostadinov, who accused him of alcoholism.
The PP-DB MP went beyond the bounds of good manners, calling Tsoncho Ganev Kostadinov's salt*ak. Here Kiselova cut off his microphone.
At that moment, the MPs from “Vazrazhdane“ jumped up from their seats and surrounded Peykov on the podium. However, he did not get off it. His party colleague Yordan Ivanov had to leave the hall peacefully and a physical clash did not occur. The quaestors also intervened.
The parliament went into recess.
After the recess, Manol Peykov declared from the rostrum of the Party House thathe would condemn Kostadin Kostadinov and Tsoncho Ganev for accusing him of drinking in the National Assembly. "When you all appear before St. Peter, your lives will finally have meaning", Peykov threatened.
Subsequently, the Speaker of the Parliament, Natalia Kiselova, imposed remarks on both Peykov and Kostadin Kostadinov. She also warned that she would impose more severe sanctions, such as expelling members of parliament from the hall, if they continued to publicly insult each other in the legislative body.
Kostadinov, in turn, accused Peykov of being "a low creature, a liar and a slanderer".
