Andrey Raichev: The main players in our country right now are GERB and Rumen Radev - 1

Our politicians will not take any drastic steps until they see what is happening in Ukraine. Such a prediction was made by sociologist Andrey Raichev to the Bulgarian National Radio.

"Zelensky is in negotiations only because of Trump. The Russians' demands are quite heavy. However, the biggest test is not Zelensky, nor Putin. The biggest test is Trump, who must choose whether to continue giving Ukraine intelligence information. If they do nothing, I am sure of Russia's aggressive response. This is the logic of the survival of power," said Raichev.

The main players in our country right now are GERB and Rumen Radev, the sociologist pointed out: "The GERB-er thesis is that we are with Europe. Radev, on the other hand, says from the very beginning: "You will not win a military victory over Russia". Both forces are possible allies of Trump. We also have two pieces of news - Borisov talked about how he would become prime minister, and Radev - about a possible consolidation of forces. Both main camps spoke synchronously about elections for the first time".

Borisov is using Peevski, not the other way around, Raychev also explained: "A possible ally of Peevski is only GERB. Peevski has nowhere to go. The personal relations between the two are going through various phases. These are two separate wolves".

Both Borisov and Peevski are centrists, and the only option for overthrowing the center is if an alliance between the left and the right is reached, the sociologist also noted.

"Now such an alliance is not in sight. "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" sees Radev as a bigger enemy. And he despises them because they betrayed him.

The new left is in genesis. Most likely, Radev will be the new left".

The president is in first place in terms of prestige at the moment, explained Andrey Raichev, but he did not want to commit to a forecast for the potential vote that Radev would gather around him if he left the presidency, formed a party and ran in early parliamentary elections.

"A lot of downtime. Kostadinov also appeared. There is a hidden struggle between Kostadinov and Radev. Radev's appearance will change the balance of power between the left and the right, but above all it will outline a completely new picture on the left side of the spectrum, and on the nationalist left. If the president resigns before January 1, 2026, they will have earned a huge bonus from having thrown away the presidency. This is a lot in the eyes of the average person. After January 2026, it will seem that he is doing it because his mandate is over. The move with the euro brought him renewal. The old left will not return. And there are a million left-wing people in the country who need to be represented," commented the political analyst.
