A motorcyclist died in an accident on the Varna - Durankulak road, in the area of the town of Balchik, the press center of the Dobrich Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports. They add that a signal about the incident was received at 10:25 p.m. last night.
The police officers who arrived at the scene found that about 500 meters before the roundabout at the entrance to the town of Balchik, a passenger car driven by a 71-year-old woman made a left turn and hit an oncoming motorcycle with a 43-year-old driver. Upon impact, the motorcyclist fell, and the motorcycle hit another car moving behind the first one. The emergency team that arrived at the scene determined the death of the motorcyclist.
The police also indicated that the driver of the motorcycle did not have a Bulgarian driving license, and the motorcycle had a suspended registration. The drivers of the cars were tested for alcohol and narcotics, which were negative. They also gave blood for chemical analysis.
An inspection was carried out and pre-trial proceedings were initiated by the Balchik Regional Office.
A few days ago, the Dobrich Regional Office of the Ministry of Interior launched an action to reduce road injuries.
