The time for analysis, the time for the political and professional leadership of the Ministry of Interior to stick together is over long ago. By this time, there should have been such synergy that would address all public sentiments, public reactions to cases similar to the one in Varna. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov regarding the case in which a 36-year-old man died.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the state is the only public organization with the right to exercise repression, but only within the framework of the law. According to Bulgarian law, the use of force and auxiliary means is made only when absolutely necessary. There is nothing visible in the video footage that would require the understanding, the feeling that it was absolutely necessary to use any form of physical force, Zhelyazkov noted.
By order of the Prime Minister, a thorough inspection will be carried out by the end of tomorrow both in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and within the Ministry of Health on the case. We will not interfere in the investigation, we will not pronounce on issues related to criminal liability, but there are many other responsibilities in the state - administrative, disciplinary and political responsibility, the Prime Minister was categorical.
