According to the unofficial information that I currently have at the Ministry of Finance, an update of the budget for 2025 is being feverishly prepared, which will be submitted by the government immediately after this notorious date of July 8. After that, it will be submitted to parliament. At least that's what my sources tell me, precisely because there is a huge underperformance of the revenue part of the budget.
This was told to BNT by the MP from "Vazrazhdane" Petar Petrov.
"Vazrazhdane" called on the other political forces in parliament to sign their motion for a vote of no confidence in the cabinet, related to the cabinet's policies in the financial sphere.
When asked whether "Vazrazhdane" was not rushing with another vote of no confidence, Petrov replied:
"On the contrary, we are even late, because people are suffering precisely because of the government's financial policy. The data for May have not even been published yet. It was only on June 10 that the Ministry of Finance published the data on the revenue part of the budget for the consolidation of fiscal policy for April. There is a delay, this delay will continue and we see that the budget has been breached in terms of the revenue side.
As can be seen from the data published by the Ministry of Finance, with projected revenues, with a projected growth of about 30% compared to 2024, between 7% and 13% are only tax revenues, non-tax revenues, note that they are at the same level as last year with a projected growth of 20%. Just one example to give you is the court fees, with 85 million in revenue last year, 120 million, even 130 million, 60% more are projected.
Do you think that 60% more Bulgarian citizens will rush to file civil cases in order to pay more fees? It won't happen. This is just a small example," the MP pointed out.
According to him, the hole in the budget is already about 1.9 billion. leva just for April.
"We expect the data for May, for June, that it will be even harder. The expected growth of 25-30% for various types of revenue will not be achieved. At the same time, no one is saying that expenses are increasing
from 22 billion, they are already 26 billion this year, compared to last year, namely 4 billion more."
The MP is convinced that support will be found for submitting a vote of no confidence.
"Whatever the other forces that supposedly say they are in the opposition say, what is important is what their voters say, who shop in the same stores that we shop in."
"We will do everything possible to overthrow the GERB government. That is why our voters sent us to parliament. And this is really our main goal at the moment. But not so much "Vazrazhdane" to overthrow GERB, but simply because Bulgarian citizens are exhausted."
