The parliamentary group of the MRF-DPS was officially named "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms", Nova TV reports. The MPs from the sixth political force in the 51st National Assembly have not proposed a new name for their group within the established three-day period.
On Friday, the name of the parliamentary group will be officially changed and it will be presented with it in the plenary hall.
We recall that on June 19, the National Assembly adopted changes to the rules of procedure prohibiting a parliamentary group from using a name or abbreviation that repeats those of another group or party. With 122 votes “in favor” GERB-SDS, ”BSP – United Left”, “There is such a people” and “DPS-New Beginning” obliged “Democracy, Rights and Freedoms” – DPS to change its name within three days. “Vazrazhdane” and DPS-DPS were against the decision. Even then, it was clear that if the parliamentary group around Ahmed Dogan did not rename itself within the established deadline, it would be officially given the name with which it registered in the elections &ndquo; “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms”.
The parliamentary group supporting Ahmed Dogan had a three-day deadline after the promulgation of the draft decision in the State Gazette to propose a new name for the group. That deadline has expired, and no proposal has been received. This means that the parliamentary group will bear the name of the coalition with which it was registered in the last parliamentary elections, namely “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms”.
