I have never been subjected to corruption pressure in any way. This was stated in “Wake up” by municipal councilor Dragomir Ivanov, who announced this week that he was leaving “We Continue the Change” - the party that nominated him. When asked if he had been subjected to corruption pressure, he was categorical: "Never and in no way".
Ivanov stressed that it is not correct to talk about "corruption in the municipality". And he was categorical that Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev and his team have no relation to what happened. "It is about corruption pressure on the districts. Otherwise, I have had information about the scandal since the spring," he explained.
We recall that the municipal councilor is one of the four who left the PP. Together with him, the mayors of "Lyulin" and "Mladost" Georgi Todorov and Ivaylo Kukurin and the municipal councilor Dimitar Shalyfov also left the party. They complained about pressure to manipulate public procurement and divert money to the party coffers.
According to Ivanov, he found out about the scheme a week before leaving the political formation. "PP is a party that is based on three pillars - in the heart of Europe, Schengen and the eurozone, and anti-corruption. When one of these pillars is not fulfilled with content, the most principled action is for a person to leave", he is categorical.
And he added: "I have never been involved in such a corrupt practice. The party's Control Council has different functions. It is not an investigative body, which is why the signal was not addressed to it. And how do you give a signal to a unit in which you suspect corruption? Until recently, I worked and believed that there were no such corrupt practices in PP,", he admitted.
