Boris Bonev: There is chaos in the municipality. Currently, there are over 30 officials who can award public contracts

"There is a political overtone. Borisov was not arrested after the recordings with Misho Birata, Banov was not arrested after the "Hello, I am Banov" scandal. However, there is clearly a political game here against "We Continue the Change", Bonev commented on the arrests in the Sofia Municipality

The unification of PP-DB and "Save Sofia" to govern the capital has failed and chaos reigns in the Sofia Municipality. This was said in the studio of "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" by the leader of "Save Sofia" and municipal councilor Boris Bonev. According to him, for months the closest positions around the mayor have remained unoccupied, responsibility in the municipality is blurred, because many people are responsible for the same task.

"The big mistake of the current Sofia government is that we came with the huge request that we will revise the GERB model, which includes the system of corruption to be ubiquitous. We came with a request to eradicate this model, this revision was not made", said Bonev.

In his words, if the mayor knew about the corruption schemes in the municipality, it is a problem, if he did not know, however, it is also a problem.

"Currently, there are over 30 officials who can award public contracts for the construction of kindergartens, for example. There is chaos in the municipality. Responsibility is blurred, there are no clear rules. There is a wide field for practices that are unacceptable for management. It is the mayor's job to create this organization", commented Bonev.

According to Boris Bonev, the latest arrests in the municipality have a political overtone:

"There is a political overtone. Borisov does not he was arrested after the recordings with Misho Birata, Banov was not arrested after the scandal "Hello, I am Banov". However, there is clearly a political game against "We Continue the Change". How can we expect different results for the city and not to have similar types of corruption practices given that the Fandakova model has not gone away. The same people are placing orders, they have kept their jobs."

Bonev also made serious criticisms of the PP:

"For me, what is very worrying is that the failure of the PP, of our unity, you know, we were united for Sofia and we failed miserably with this unity. This failure leads to a complete demotivation of society and the words will be heard - Delyan Slavchev Peevski is the Prime Minister of Bulgaria. We must tighten up, people must not lose hope."

The municipal councilor also commented on the future changes in parking in the red, blue and green zones of Sofia. It is planned that the annual vignette for those living in the red zone will be 200 leva for the first car and 600 leva for the second. The red and blue zones will operate seven days a week from 8:00 to 21:00. The scope of each of the zones will also change, including the green one. The price for parking in the red zone is currently planned to be 5 leva per hour.
